Published by
It happens every year, but before we know it, the indoor season just sneaks up on us. This last weekend featured the first meets of the 2010 indoor season. While most of the top athletes won't open their season until after the Winter break in mid-January, a few athletes always choose to compete early with impressive results. The highlight of last weekend of Memphis senior Steffen Nerdal. Nerdal, the runner-up at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships, shined with a near personal best throw of 22.41m (73-06.25). That mark is more than a meter better than his season opener from last year and only 13cm off of his personal best. Ben Bishop (SIU-Edwardsville) launched a huge personal best of 21.11m (69-03.25). By our research, that is around three meters better than his best from last year. On the women's side, a trio of Southern Illinois throwers led the way. Junior Gwen Berry had the top mark with a throw of 20.29m (66-07.00). Men's Weight Throw
