It’s not very hard to locate the Cal Lutheran throwers at track and field meets.

Start by looking for the mob of violet and gold jerseys carrying heavy equipment. Then, listen for the loud and constant laughter. Or just wait for the event’s top placers to be announced.

Led by junior Eric Flores and senior Christa Youngern, CLU’s throwers are in the midst of a record-breaking season.

The group — consisting of seven females and five males — are coached by Lucais MacKay, who won three state championships as a sophomore at Moorpark College.
